Singmogil (Korean: ์๋ชฉ์ผ) is a holiday in South Korea. Itโs easier to understand โThe Korean Arbor Dayโ. Annually on April 5, It is celebrated by most people in Korea.
The idea was to celebrate forestry and the development of national history. The date was chosen for its historical significance. On this day, April 5, Silla achieved the unification of the Three kingdoms of Korea.
The day was designated by president decree in 1949.
On this day, South Korean people plant trees. Government offices help people plant trees. Even though Singmogil was abolished as a holiday, the South Korean public continues to take part in meaningful activities.
