Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18, 1898 in Modena, Italy. He was the son of a grocer and started a workshop that made metal parts at home. Enzo grew up with little formal education. At the age of 10 he witnessed Felice Nazzaro winning the Circuito di Bologna in 1908, an event that inspired him to become a racing driver. At the age of 20, he got a job as a truck driver for a car company. In the meantime, he met Felice Nazzaro, one of the best racers in Italy. In 1929, he opened his own factory called 'Scuderia Ferrari', which means stable, and marked the beginning of the true history of Ferrari. For this reason, today's Ferrari emblem has the word "SF" engraved with a picture of a horse, which is an abbreviation for Scuderia Ferrari.
